How to Import and use MOGRT Files in Premiere Pro

MOGRT files (Motion Graphics Templates) allow you to use pre-designed transitions, titles, and animations in Premiere Pro, making your workflow smoother and more efficient.

Here’s a simple guide on how to use MOGRT transitions between two clips in Adobe Premiere Pro.

Step 1: Place Your Footage in the Timeline

Place Footage A onto the timeline. This will be your first clip.

Step 2: Import the MOGRT Files

  1. Open the Essential Graphics panel by going to Window > Essential Graphics.
  2. In the Essential Graphics panel, click the + icon to import your folder containing the MOGRT files you want to use.
You can now browse and access the transitions from the Essential Graphics panel.

    Step 3: Apply the Transition

    1. Drag and drop your chosen MOGRT transition from the Essential Graphics panel onto the timeline, placing it where you want the transition to start between Footage A and Footage B.
    2. Add Footage B to the timeline, starting exactly when the transition begins.

    Step 4: Cut Your Footage

Cut Footage A and Footage B so that the cuts match the duration of the transition.

      • Ctrl+K (or Cmd+K) to cut at playhead

    Step 5: Nest the Clips

Right-click on the cut parts of both Footage A and Footage B, then select Nest…. This will group the footage into nested sequences.

Step 6: Assign the Clips to the Transition

    1. Click on the transition clip in the timeline.
    2. In the Essential Graphics panel, go to the Edit tab. You’ll see fields labeled FOOTAGE A and FOOTAGE B.
    3. Drag and drop the nested Footage A into the FOOTAGE A field and the nested Footage B into the FOOTAGE B field.

Now, your MOGRT transition should seamlessly apply between the two clips!
