Learn how to apply glitch transitions from the Fractured Glitch pack in DaVinci Resolve to create seamless, eye-catching transitions between two clips.
Step 1: Set Up Your Footage
In the Edit page, place your footage on the timeline.- Put Footage A on Track V3 (or another suitable track depending on your edit).
Step 2: Add Fractured Glitch Transitions
- Drag and drop the Fractured Glitch Transition A and Transition B from your asset pack into the timeline:
- Place Transition A on Track V5.
- Place Transition B on Track V4.
- For Transition B, go to the Video tab in the Inspector panel, scroll to Composite, and set the Composite Mode to Add.
Step 3: Cut Footage A
- Cut Footage A at the point where you want the transition to start:
- Select the Blade Edit Mode (shortcut B) to slice Footage A at the transition point.
- On the second part of Footage A (after the cut), set the Composite Mode to Foreground.
Step 4: Duplicate Transition B
- Duplicate Transition B (on Track V4) and place the copy under Footage A on Track V2.
- To duplicate, hold down Alt (or Option on Mac), then drag and drop Transition B to create a copy.
- Set the Composite Mode of the duplicated Transition B to Alpha.
- Place Footage B on the timeline, below everything else (e.g., on Track V1).
